Day 1: Diani Beach – Moshi (Tanzania)

Depart early from Diani Beach and travel through Mombasa and Taveta to cross into Tanzania via the Holili border. Enjoy scenic views of rolling hills and local villages along the way. Upon arrival in Moshi, check in to your hotel, meet your mountain guide, and attend a detailed climbing briefing. Dinner and overnight stay in Moshi.

Day 2: Moshi – Marangu Gate – Mandara Hut (2,700m)

After breakfast, drive to Marangu Gate (1,870m), where registration and preparations take place. Begin your trek through lush montane forest, spotting colobus monkeys and exotic birds along the trail. Arrive at Mandara Hut for dinner and overnight.

Hiking time: 4–5 hours

Day 3: Mandara Hut – Horombo Hut (3,720m)

Start your climb after breakfast, ascending through moorland vegetation. The trail offers views of Mawenzi and Kibo peaks as you gain altitude. Arrive at Horombo Hut for rest and acclimatization.

Hiking time: 5–6 hours

Day 4: Horombo Hut – Kibo Hut (4,700m) – Uhuru Peak (5,895m) – Horombo Hut

Wake up just before midnight for the summit attempt. Begin the slow ascent to Gilman’s Point (5,685m) on the crater rim, then continue to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa. Celebrate briefly before descending to Kibo Hut for rest, then continue down to Horombo Hut for overnight.

Hiking time: 10–12 hours

Day 5: Horombo Hut – Marangu Gate – Diani Beach

Descend through the forest to Marangu Gate, where successful climbers receive summit certificates. Say goodbye to your mountain crew and drive back to Moshi for lunch. Later, transfer back to Diani Beach via the Taveta border, marking the end of your Kilimanjaro adventure.
