Day 1: Nairobi – Aberdare National Park

Your safari adventure begins in Nairobi, where you’ll be met by your driver-guide and depart for Aberdare National Park. Enjoy a scenic drive through the fertile central highlands, passing tea and coffee plantations before arriving at the Aberdares. Check in at your lodge nestled in the forest, often visited by elephants, buffaloes, and bushbucks at the waterhole. After lunch, spend the afternoon relaxing as you watch wildlife gather below. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 2: Aberdares – Samburu National Reserve

After breakfast, journey north across the equator to the rugged landscapes of Samburu. The scenery changes dramatically to arid savannah dotted with acacia trees and distant hills. Arrive at your lodge in time for lunch and later head out for an afternoon game drive. Samburu is home to unique northern species such as the Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, Somali ostrich, and Beisa oryx. Return to your lodge at sunset for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Full Day in Samburu National Reserve

Spend the day exploring Samburu’s diverse habitats along the Ewaso Nyiro River. Morning and afternoon game drives offer opportunities to see elephants, lions, leopards, and the endangered African wild dog. Visit a local Samburu village to experience their rich culture and traditions. Enjoy a relaxing evening at your lodge as you listen to the sounds of the African night.

Day 4: Samburu – Ol Pejeta Conservancy (Sweetwaters)

After breakfast, drive to the famous Ol Pejeta Conservancy, located between the foothills of Mount Kenya and the Aberdares. Arrive in time for lunch and an afternoon game drive. Ol Pejeta is renowned for its rhino sanctuary and the only chimpanzee sanctuary in Kenya. You’ll have a chance to visit both and learn about ongoing conservation efforts. Dinner and overnight at Sweetwaters Serena Camp or similar.

Day 5: Ol Pejeta – Lake Nakuru National Park

Depart after breakfast and travel through the Great Rift Valley to Lake Nakuru National Park, a bird lover’s paradise. Check in for lunch at your lodge and later embark on an afternoon game drive. Lake Nakuru is famous for its flocks of flamingos, rhinos, Rothschild giraffes, and tree-climbing lions. Return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay surrounded by the peaceful lake environment.

Day 6: Lake Nakuru – Masai Mara National Reserve

After breakfast, drive across the dramatic Rift Valley to the world-famous Masai Mara National Reserve. Arrive in time for lunch and relax before your first afternoon game drive. The Mara teems with wildlife year-round, including elephants, lions, cheetahs, and herds of wildebeests and zebras. Return to your camp for dinner and overnight, ready for the adventures ahead.

Day 7: Full Day in Masai Mara

Spend the entire day exploring the vast savannahs of Masai Mara. Early morning and late afternoon game drives provide the best opportunities for spotting predators and witnessing the drama of the wild. Optional activities include a visit to a Maasai village or a sunrise hot air balloon safari for a breathtaking aerial view of the plains. Enjoy a sundowner back at camp as you reflect on your day’s discoveries.

Day 8: Masai Mara – Nairobi

After breakfast, enjoy one last early morning game drive before departing for Nairobi. Arrive in the afternoon and transfer to your hotel or the airport for your onward flight. Your 8-day scenic Kenya safari ends with wonderful memories of diverse landscapes and incredible wildlife encounters.
